"Casa Ramoli" is situated like an eagle's nest on a spur of the ridge that separates the Val di Greve from the Val di Pesa, with magnificent views as far as the Val d'Arno and the hills behind Florence to the north. The Tuscan hilltop town of Panzano in Chianti is located just a few minutes away on the same ridge. The high altitude and exposure to cool breezes is important during hot summer days! |
The high altitude also accounts for the existence of the house. The highest part of the house which for many years was a colombaia, a pigeon loft, was originally a watch tower that formed part of the defences of the Castle of Panzano and dates from the 15th century.

"Casa Ramoli" is accessed directly from the Chiantigiana road that runs form Florence to Sienna and is one of the most popular motoring routes in Tuscany, indeed, in all of Italy. In fact, "Casa Ramoli" is exactly midway between Florence and Sienna, making it an ideal base for visiting both of those cities as well as the Chianti wineries and castles. A car is recommended to explore the region, but Casa Ramoli is easily reached by comfortable bus from Florence and Panzano can be reached on foot (about 1 km). |

Included in the price: Electricity, gas for cooking, towels, bed linen (changed once per week), hot and cold water, final cleaning. Not included in the price: Heating, if needed, costs 1 euro per liter of natural gas used (normal consumption at a medium temperature can be about 10 euro per day for the whole apartment, depending on weather conditions and duration of use). How to reach Chianti holiday home "Casa Ramoli" GPS Coordinates: 43.546953, 11.320488 From the south - Rome - A1 superstrada Exit Incisa Valdarno. Follow the directions for "Figline Valdarno", then continue onwards to Greve in Chianti. Pass through Greve and continue on for 4 km towards Panzano. On the main road, after you pass Fattoria Montagliari and curve uphill, look for our large iron gates on the right. From the north - Bologna/Florence - A1 superstrada Exit Firenze Certosa or Firenze Sud. Drive south following the directions for Greve in Chianti. Pass through Greve and continue on for 4 km towards Panzano. On the main road, after you pass Fattoria Montagliari and curve uphill, look for our large iron gates on the right.
